DAY 1: ARRIVE IN CHENNAI

After having breakfast in your hotel, while basking in the afternoon Sun, you may visit Fort Saint George, Saint Mary Church and Saint Thomas Cathedral Basilica. You may check if there are any interesting art exhibitions and musical events happening in the city and attend them too. Later you can visit Kapaleeswarar Temple which is in Mylapore, the most colourful and traditional neighbourhoods. You may end your day by taking a stroll at the Marina Beach.

DAY 2: CHENNAI TO MAHABALIPURAM

In Mahabalipuram, you may visit the intricately carved Shore Temple. Cave Temples and Panch Rathas will mesmerize everyone from young to adults with its sheer beauty. Krishna’s Butterball is a mysterious rock that balances itself on a slope and is around 16 feet diameter. On your way back, you can take a look at the whole town atop the lighthouse and the sunset sight indeed looks very beautiful.

DAY 3: MAHABALIPURAM TO TANJORE

Proceed to Tanjore which is famous for its tourist destinations and visit the Brihadeesvar Temple. When in Tanjore, you must visit the Annai Vailankanni Shrine and Thanjavur Royal Palace.

DAY 4: TANJORE TO TRICHY

A short trip to Trichy or Tiruchirapalli would take you to the history of the Cholas kings and give you a taste of both traditions and modernity. Trichy, situated on the banks of Kaveri River, has many British Chruches and ‘Our Lady of Lourdes’ has to be made on your checklist. Visit the Rock Fort Temple and Vinayaka Temple. Taking a break from the temples and forts, you may check out the markets that are famous for their local cigars and textiles. It can be the shopping time for your family!

DAY 5: TRICHY TO MADURAI TO CHENNAI

Ending your trip by visiting Madurai will be a good choice as there are many places to discover. You cannot miss going and appreciating the outstanding architecture of Meenakshi Temple. Next you may visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Gandhi Museum, Pazhamudhircholai Temple and Azhagar Kovil Temple.
