FAMILY PACKAGE – GANGA DARSHAN

A family trip to Ganga Darshan must be done by everyone as the holy river holds much significance in the Indian tradition. Amidst the chimes of the temple bells, numerous floating divas and chanting of the mantras, imagine yourself sitting on an enchanted porch in a calm place and sipping tea or coffee. It feels surreal, right? You will actually be able to feel the positive vibrations in the air as you will be surrounded by the spiritual aura of the serene place. Situated on the foothills of Himalaya on the banks of river Ganga, Rishikesh is frequented by thousands of Indian as well as international travellers every year.

Here’s your trip plan:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT HARIDWAR

Haridwar is considered to be one of the most sacred cities of India. When you reach Haridwar with your family, attending the holy Ganga Aarti in the evening is a must thing to do. The Aarti is a once in a lifetime experience as hundreds of people travel thousands of kilometres to be a part of it. It is believed that gods come from heaven at that time and the collective prayers of the devotees add up creating a divine atmosphere. After taking a bath in the holy water, you must visit other temples such as Mansa Devi, Chandi Devi, Bharat Mata temple, Daksh Mahadev temple, Harihar ashram and Anandmayi ashram. The place offers beautiful views.

DAY 2: HARIDWAR TO RISHIKESH

Drive 25 kms ahead of Haridwar toRishikesh which is one of the desired destinations as it offers a bunch of things to the tourists such as adventure sports, yoga and temples. Visit religious places such as Laxman Jhulla and Vaishnodevi temple. This place is famous for activities such as kayaking, rappelling, rock climbing and bungee jumping. Many studies say that Rishikesh is the perfect place for meditation and attaining spirituality. Sit by the white water and escape into some other mystical world.

DAY 3: RISHIKESH TO GANGOTRI

Cuddled in the heart of Uttarkashi, Gangotri is one of the four Char Dhams. It’s the place where river Ganga descended from the heaven when Lord Shiva released the river from his locks. It is the starting point of trek routes such as Tapovan, Gaumukh and Bhojwasa. There are many places to visit and Harsil, Surya kund and Gangotri temple are to name a few.

DAY 4: LEAVE FROM GANGOTRI

After trekking to the nearby areas and capturing the mesmerising and slow-clad Himalayas in eyes and pictures, leave from the place to your home.

If you have a day extra saved for another destination, then head to Mussoorie which is 90 kms from Haridwar. It has various picturesque spots to visit such as Sahastra Dhara and the lake. It’s a good place for shopping as well.

Your family members from the oldest aunt to the youngest kid would have a great time and would take back many good things. It will be a spectacular trip to remember and the place is apt for clicking pictures of tourists, priests, devotees, surroundings and natural expressions.
